10 Duas for Every Mother

10 Duas for Every Mother

She is the Ummah: Not All Mothers Wear the Same Story

Motherhood wears many faces. Some hold their children close, others only in their hearts. Some nurture life without a title, some grieve silently, and some mother multitudes. At Nisa Foundation, we recognize that motherhood is not a singular experience—it is a sacred spectrum, filled with strength, struggle, and profound love.

She is the Ummah: Not All Mothers Wear the Same Story is our heartfelt reflection of this truth. As Dhul Hijjah approaches, a month of mercy and devotion, we share this special collection of original duas—written with sincerity and reverence—to honour the depth and diversity of motherhood across our Ummah.

1. The Grieving Mother

To the one whose child returned to Jannah before they could walk…

O Allah, make my child an intercessor for me on the Day of Judgment, and reunite us in the gardens of bliss.

2. The Hopeful One

To the one who has made du’a with a trembling heart for years…

O Allah, grant me contentment with Your decree, and let me taste the mercy of motherhood in all its forms.

3. The Quiet Strength

To the one carrying it all without being seen…

O Allah, be her Helper and Protector. Bless her time, her children, and fill her heart with peace.

4. The One Who Loved Without a Name

To the one whose love nurtures without a title…

O Allah, let her love be a light in the lives of others, and count her among those You are pleased with.

5. The One Who Miscarried

To the one who cradled life only briefly…

O Allah, mend her broken heart, grant her patience, and place her child under the care of Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

6. The New Mother

To the one holding life for the first time…

O Allah, help her in her nights and days, and make her motherhood a beginning of Your closeness and blessings.

7. The One of Many Roles

To the one who mothers five and still makes space for more…

O Allah, grant her the strength of those who rely upon You, and reward her for every unseen exhaustion.

8. The Stepmother

To the one whose love grew by choice…

O Allah, purify her heart from doubt, and let her tenderness be a source of comfort for those she raises.

9. The Grandmother

To the one whose arms now hold generations…

O Allah, fill her years with blessing, and let her words be a light for her descendants.

10. The One Grieving Her Mother

To the one who learned love from loss…

O Allah, raise her mother’s rank in the highest heavens, and make her memory a mercy in her heart, not a pain.

These duas are original reflections—crafted not from direct Qur’anic or Hadith sources, but written with deep love, care, and the spirit of Islamic tradition. Each is a prayer whispered for the unseen battles and the radiant beauty of womanhood in all its forms.

As Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله beautifully said:

“Women are one half of the Ummah and give birth to the other half—so it is as if they are the entire Ummah.”

This is our small offering to honour that truth.
